Damon Angelatos – Geraldton Grammar

Geraldton Grammar School is an independent, coeducational school, offering a caring Christian education in the Anglican tradition for students. The school has built a reputation for striving for excellence in every endeavour and as a result this reputation has seen enrolments increase to more than 645 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 in 2009.

Geraldton Grammar School is located on 17.9 hectares in the heart of Geraldton positioned with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean while providing plenty of space for expansion as the school grows. Cool rammed earth features in many of the school's buildings, create a calming ambience in which to learn.

Students are taught in smaller class groups allowing for more attentive teaching. Attention to academic excellence and pastoral support provides a framework for students to achieve their potential.

High graduation rates and levels of university entrance are experienced by Geraldton Grammar School students. Importantly, these young people also graduate as responsible citizens with a strong sense of community. The school fosters this caring, learning community, while retaining an outward focus into Geraldton and beyond.

The school offers internationally recognised courses as a member of Round Square and enrols Year 9 students in the international service program, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Students are also given the opportunity to travel interstate and overseas, both as a school group and as part of individual exchange programs.

As part of its commitment to the local environment, Geraldton Grammar School has constructed the only freshwater lake within 100km to recycle rainwater run-off and provide a permanent water source for aquatic organisms.
