Lesson Plans

Well done you have successfully logged on to the Whale Sharks of Ningaloo Reef website and discovered where you are going to find your science work for the next week.

As you know I am now in Exmouth by Ningaloo Reef, conducting research on the whale sharks and their habitat. This is to aid in improving our knowledge of these magnificent animals. This will then inform how we can best act towards the conservation of the whale sharks and their environment.

Over the course of the next week your daily tasks can be found in the ‘lesson plan’ section at the left hand side of this web page.

These tasks will involve you conducting research on the internet to find answers to some of the questions I will be setting. Other questions you will have to try and work out for yourself by using your own judgment.

By the end of this week however you will have gathered enough information to construct a report on a topic you have found interesting about the whale sharks, their environment, our impact upon their population and our efforts at conservation.

I will be looking forward to reading your reports.

You will also be able to contact me on the on-line forum to ask any questions you have about the project, or to share any ideas you may have about how we can better understand or protect this species. . . . . Or you may just want to say hello!

All the best

Mr. Furber.
