Safety Bay Senior High

Safety Bay Senior High School is a large comprehensive high school with an enrolment of 1100 students and 100 staff. The school is located 50 km south of the centre of Perth.
Currently on the southern fringe of the metropolitan area the district has grown from a weekend holiday village to become a major satellite suburban centre interfacing with all of the regions of Perth. Safety Bay SHS offers a broad curriculum incorporating a number of specific specialist programs. The school caters for students in both the middle and post compulsory phases of schooling.
Safety Bay Senior High School aims to provide a curriculum that draws upon the traditional areas of academic knowledge but also takes into account the new directions in technology, the increasingly complex demands of media and the important social dimension of learning and work, seeking to provide outcomes relevant to that world. The school recognises that curriculum is dynamic and includes all the learning experiences provided for the student. The learning environment, teaching methods, the ethos and the ways in which students and staff behave toward one another all provide experiences, in addition to the formally taught curriculum, from which students learn.
The school recognises the diversity of abilities, aptitudes and interests of its students and seeks to provide a congenial, sympathetic and stimulating environment that encourages the full development of those individual abilities. The school recognises the value of partnerships in education and promotes strong collaboration amongst staff, students, parents and the wider community, and strong links with local industry and education providers. Safety Bay Senior High School will further develop as a cohesive and caring community and actively committed to pursuing excellence in the development of students who will be prepared for a changing society.
