Rockingham Senior High School is situated on the southern Perth coastline, in the outer metropolitan area.
Rockingham Senior High School is a well established and resourced school that offers our students a comprehensive and caring secondary education. Our size enables each student to choose from a wide range of interesting courses designed to meet their individual needs and aspirations. We offer an excellent academic programs that allows each student to extend their learning in a variety of specialist areas in both middle and senior secondary school.
Located in a garden setting within close proximity to the coast, Rockingham Senior High School provides a pleasant learning environment. Our unique location enables easy access to industry and the marine environment. The school is widely recognised as a provider of maritime related secondary education and is acknowledged as the Maritime Specialist School in Western Australia by the Education Department. No other secondary school in Australia provides Year 8 - 12 students with the opportunity to participate in an integrated cross-curricular Maritime Studies Program. The success of the Maritime Studies Program led to the introduction of two additional specialist programs designed to meet the individual needs of our students. These are the Arts/Humanities and Science/Technology & Enterprise Programs.
With nearly 900 students, the school offers a comprehensive and caring secondary education using a sub-school approach. This model ensures quality pastoral care and the choice of a wide range of programs to suit the individual needs and aspirations of all students. Students in all sub-schools study Japanese through a well-established LOTE program. A full range of courses is available including Tertiary Entrance (TEE), Wholly School Assessed (WSA) and Vocational Education and Training Programs (VET). Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) opportunities are widely available and the school has many traineeship courses available for selected students.
