Lesson One - Graeme Lauritsen
Website Navigation
Welcome to the Whale Sharks of Ningaloo Reef. Over the next week you will navigate your way through the Home Page of the Teachlive project, so a bit of an understanding about the home page is required.
http://whalesharks.teachlive.org.au
The experience will give you an insight into whale shark activities along Ningaloo Reef in our North West.
By reading down the left side of the page you will see a series of links to the main part of the website. Access these links to get an over all picture of the website.
In Lesson 2 you will be required to investigate the Leeuwin Current, coral spawning and whale sharks so keep a look out for any relevant material that may present itself in your search.
While searching, find the answers to the following questions (put your answers into your work book):
1. Find who the Principle Investigator is?
2. The research carried out by Earthwatch volunteer’s will___________________
3. How long is Ningaloo Reef ?
4. Besides whale sharks, what other type of wildlife frequent Ningaloo Reef ?
Forums
On the left side of the page the forum link allows you to communicate with Mr Buys and myself. Ask any questions (except direct answers to your assignments) or just make a comment about anything of interest to you. Refer to your work book for instructions on how to gain access to the forum link.
Keep your work book with you during the week and enter the required data from your lessons.
Good luck and we will be thinking of you.
